Remote Joshua Tree residence-turned-wedding-venue? Check. Bubble wands and neon lights tucked into rocks? Check, check. This desert wedding festival was such a blast to coordinate for Kaede + Jason. Not to mention one heck of a fun one to be a part of. Joshua Tree lends a natural backdrop unlike many and we love how the talented Stefanie Vinsel captured the essence of this day so magically with her lens. Wanting a laid back and non-traditional vibe to their wedding, K + J opted for a pizza truck for dinner service and a ceremony among the rocks where guests seated themselves. We loved sharing this day with such a sweet couple and we know they’ll be rocking together as husband and wife for years to come.
From the minute we set eyes on the 2012 film adaptation of Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina, we knew we wanted to recreate all of the opulence we saw. Design for weddings and events can come from any inspiring moment and the period film had us wanting to design the incredible scenes with a modern edge.
From rich velvets, to warm ruby colors and gilded accents throughout, the style of 19th century Imperial Russian aristocracy was at the forefront of our design vision. When we met Russian photographer Anya Kernes living in LA, we knew she would be the perfect fit. In the movie, the love story unfolds on a literal stage. With that in mind, we chose The MacArthur in Los Angeles as the backdrop for the style shoot. Dripping with chandeliers and full sized stage, there couldn’t have been a better location!
We opted for rich merlot tones with linens from Mod Mix Studio to complement the dishes from Dish Wish on our remake of an aristocratic wedding dinner. Mixing colors, patterns and glassware together alongside the velvet runner was a styling dream enhanced by dramatic florals from Inessa Nichols Design (who also happens to have Russian roots and speaks Russian), A fun detail came through the Russian tea leaves lining the bottom of the glass tea boxes with each guest’s name at their indicated place setting. A traditional tea table adorned with classic Russian desserts lends a nod to the Old World elegance. As the vendors spoke Russian to each other and the “bride” model, Olia, we felt like we were transported back in time to a wedding fit for royalty. The planets and stars all aligned perfectly for this drop-dead gorgeous al fresco wedding for Tori + Jake. We had the opportunity to work with an a-list team of vendors for this day and it was a labor of love putting together all of the finishing touches you see below. From the most insane florals from Layered Vintage, to the tabletop details from Hostess Haven, we couldn’t have asked for a more creative and stunning setup. Jake’s childhood home set the backdrop and Archive Rentals completed the wedding day look with their long communal tables and Tuscan chairs. The street was blocked off with romantic white chiffon curtains and the front yard was transformed into the ceremony location. Guests were then ushered to the bar with champagne cocktails for cocktail hour and made their way to a backyard transformed for dinner. Soultones as always brought the house down all night while A MIHO Experience served THE most delicious family-style dinner. We had an absolute blast planning this one alongside Tori + Jake who were a serious dream couple. Wishing y’all nothing but the happiest of marriages as you continue life together in New York!
Modern Palm Springs weddings are where it’s at, friends. This bright and intimate soiree at The Avalon Palm Springs was one of our favorites to date. Captured by the insanely talented Sarah Falugo, every detail was accounted for. Take an elegant yet modern aesthetic, the natural Palm Springs beauty all around and one trendy bride and you’ve got yourself a picture perfect party.
Luna at Arrangements Design killed it with all the lush florals and that custom escort wall. Their team also singlehandedly hung the copper orbs and made sure every tabletop detail tied in perfectly. From the large tropical leaves, to the gilded glass votives – we couldn’t get enough. Archive Rentals had the perfect blush goblets for the occasion and Over The Rainbow provided a cake that looked like a piece of art. Guests were ushered into the reception through a romantic chiffon curtain and were greeted with champagne.
The vibe of the night was intimate and warm, with guests hugging and laughing and raising their glasses with various toasts. We wish these two a wonderful lifetime of happiness together and are so humbled to have been a part of this perfect day.
Where to even begin with this lovely Coronado stunner? Jenna + Andrew were dream clients that we miss working with every day. We had the honor to not just run the day of the wedding, but spend months planning and designing this pastel dream from top to bottom. Jenna + Andrew knew that they wanted an intimate and romantic beachside wedding and we transformed the Loews Coronado outdoor patio into an ethereal and elegant space. San Diego Party Rentals created a custom draped ceiling and strung bistro lights to illuminate the chiffon at night. Archive Rentals lended their gorgeous sofas, rustic tables and settees as alternative ceremony seating options facing the ocean. Tono + Co’s torn silk ribbon wrapped up ivory napkins on the table and guests were shown their seats with custom calligraphed sea glass pieces that complemented the lush florals. Layered Vintage killed it with organic and loose blooms that filled the tables and modern bouquets in the dreamiest of colors. Kevin Miso entertained guests all night with his casual, California style and the ceremony space was flipped for dancing late into the night. These two lovebirds were a dream come true and we can’t wait to continue sharing in their happiness for years to come!
